Cops Seize Dad’s Firearms License and Hunting Rifle After Spat With School Principal Over Son’s ‘Despicable Me’ Drawing

Robert Goodwin, 41, was engaged in a heated disagreement with the principal of his son’s elementary school last week over a picture his son drew in art class.

His 10-year-old’s drawing of “Gru” from the children’s movie “Despicable Me” depicted the character “shooting ping-pong balls at his minions,” Goodwin told the Boston Herald. School officials reportedly deemed the drawing as sexual in nature.

So the Arlington, Massachusetts, dad apparently thought an additional visual aid would help.

TEMPLE TERRACE (FOX 13) -Cherie Miller didn't even have to get out of her car to start something powerful.

"I had my fingers on the wheel. I felt a sneaky, sly, happy feeling," Miller said.

She stopped by the Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Temple Terrace, where that night proceeds were benefiting her church, and decided she wanted to pass the blessing on.

"I wanted to pay for the person behind me," she said.

That started a chain reaction of generosity. One-by-one, strangers paid it forward, 18 in a row.

"It was a way for me to pass on the love of God, and to give someone a surprise," she said.

At the time, she had no idea of the ripple effect she started, but later when she returned for another order, she heard the good news and did it again.

That time 20 people followed suit.

Nurse Who Refused Flu Shot Wins Lawsuit

A New Jersey appeals court says a nurse was unfairly denied unemployment benefits after she was fired for refusing a flu shot.

June Valent was working as a nurse at Hackettstown Community Hospital in 2010 when the company began requiring employees to take the flu vaccine unless they had medical or religious reasons not to. Anyone who refused would be required to wear a mask.

Valent declined the vaccine. She didn't state a medical or religious exemption, but she agreed to wear a mask.

The liberal bully of the week is … Obamacare

Normally, the Liberal Bully of the Week Award is reserved for a person or a distinct group of people. I guess you could say Obamacare is a group of people, if you count the hundreds of thousands of bureaucrats and IRS agents involved in enforcing it.

Obamacare “customers” certainly do seem to feel bullied. A new poll from Enroll America — a group created specifically to support the Affordable Care Act — asked people who bought Obamacare policies to choose from a list of 15 reasons they made their purchase. The most common response was “Because it’s the law,” with 36 percent. “Because I didn’t want to pay the fine” came in third, with 34 percent.

An even higher percentage of young people — who get the worst deal out of Obamacare, paying sky-high premiums for benefits they’ll probably never use — said they enrolled because they were afraid of the individual mandate. Overall, 40 percent of respondents to the poll said they might not have signed up for Obamacare, if not for the mandate.

So on April Fool’s Day, President Obama bounced into the White House Rose Garden to celebrate his success at using fines and legal penalties to force millions of people to buy a health care policy!

IRS Caught Breaking Law To Target Conservatives

WASHINGTON — The IRS appears to have been caught red-handed breaking federal law in its zeal to criminally prosecute conservatives for their political activities.

The House Oversight Committee has revealed the IRS sent the FBI a database containing more than a million pages of confidential taxpayer information that is protected by federal law.

Attorney General Eric Holder’s Department of Justice, or DOJ, is now admitting the FBI should never have had that data in the first place.

The information was delivered just weeks before the 210 elections to the FBI, after a conversation between Richard Pilger, an official with the Justice Department’s Election Crimes Branch and former IRS Director of Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner, a central figure in the scandal.

In fact, one move by second-ranked Beal City High School pitcher Ty Rollin against top-ranked Muskegon Catholic Central High School might require a second look to catch the trick he used to score a key out.

If you missed it, this is what happened. Rollin faked a throw to second base and everyone else on the team pretended the ball went into center field as well. That’s when the Muskegon Catholic runner made for third base, but Rollin revealed he still had the ball and tagged this runner out.

Consumer Credit Has Fifth Biggest Monthly Jump In History; Revolving Credit Soars By Most Since November 2007

A month ago we pointed out that with April US consumer savings plunging to levels not seen since Lehman [6], the only place where the tapped out consumer could find some purchasing power is by maxing out their credit cards. This is precisely what happened: moments ago the Fed released its April consumer credit report and it was a doozy: expected to print at $15.00 billion, down from a pre-revision $17.5 billion, the April total instead exploded to a whopping $26.85 billion. This was the fifth biggest surge in history, and was only surpassed by the 2010 "cash for clunkers" record, as well as previous one time outliers in 1998, 2001, and 2006.

Last Stop For Country Star George Strait

ARLINGTON, Texas – It’s the end of the trail for country music king George Strait, who will wrap up his final tour Saturday with a star-filled show at the lavish home of the Dallas Cowboys in his home state of Texas.

The show brings an end to nearly 40 years on the road for Strait, which started in 1975 with the Ace in the Hole Band. And he plans to do it in style, inviting several of country’s biggest stars, including Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean and Eric Church.

Yet the focus will still be on the 62-year-old singer, who is beloved in country music with a career decades longer than most. He’s had more songs top Billboard’s country music charts than any other musician. And while he’s quitting the road, he may yet add to his chart-topping total after renewing his deal with MCA Records last year to produce five more albums.

A D-Day Veteran Politely Declines Obama Invitation

Take George Ciampa, the most vibrant and spry 89-year-old I have ever met. In 1944, he landed in Normandy as a soldier assigned to the 84th Graves Registration Unit. “I spent the next few years going from France to Germany helping to bury people,” he told me. He was involved in setting up the temporary military cemeteries in Normandy that have now become stirring memorials to our fallen dead.

The experience transformed George, and he eventually became a filmmaker celebrating America’s heroes. His website tells the story of the four documentaries he has done on military valor. He is still making films today.

This week, George received a call from the White House, who said they knew he would be over in France during D-Day, and wondered if he would attend a private meeting the White House was arranging for veterans with President Obama.

George thought about it for awhile and concluded he just couldn’t. “I have so many issues with the president’s policies, including the most recent ones,” he told me ruefully. “I just couldn’t convince myself to do it.”

He is not alone. The recent Bergdahl prisoner swap in which five hardened Taliban terrorists were released from prison is rubbing a lot of the military veterans attending D-Day events the wrong way. “It’s not that we don’t want to respect the commander-in-chief,” one told me sadly. “It’s just that he makes it so hard to do so.”

Holder Seeks Legal Team For Children On Border

The Obama administration announced a program late last week that would provide attorneys for the young illegal immigrant children crossing in waves over the U.S.-Mexico border, saying they want to make sure the unaccompanied minors are getting fair legal representation.

The joint project between the Justice Department and AmeriCorps, the government’s national service organization, aims to recruit 100 lawyers and paralegals to shepherd the children through the immigration system, making sure they are treated properly and can make claims for legal status or protection if they are eligible.

“We’re taking a historic step to strengthen our justice system and protect the rights of the most vulnerable members of society,” Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said in a statement announcing the plan.

A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a pill bottle containing suspected marijuana in the floor where Harris was seated. Harris was issued a criminal citation for possession of less then 10 g of marijuana and released.

On 06/06/2014 at 10:40 pm Worcester County Sheriff’ s Office Deputies located two people in the area of 205 Atlantic Ave, who were smoking suspected marijuana. The Deputies identified the two people as John Korri Brasher 22 of Waldorf Maryland, the other as a Juvenile from Maryland. Mr. Brasher was released on a Criminal Citation.  The Juvenile was transported to 65th Street for processing.  The juvenile was later released pending action from the Department of Juvenile Services.

On 06/06/2014 at 9:05 pm Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were conducting a business check at 301 Baltimore Ave, when they observed a male yelling at a group of people inside the hotel. The Deputies identified the male as a Juvenile from Delaware.  The Juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Ocean City Police Dept 65th Street for processing.  The juvenile was released pending action from the Department of Juvenile Services.

On 06/07/2014 at 1:05 am Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies witnessed a fight in the area of 5th street near Philadelphia Ave. The Deputies were able to identify the main aggressor as 19 year old Michael Anthony Soper Jr of Perry Hall Maryland.  Deputies along with allied agencies were able to break up the fight without any further incident.  Mr. Soper was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Affray.  Mr. Soper was seen by a District Court Commissioner and released. 

On Saturday June 7^th at about 2100 Hrs. in the 800 block of Baltimore ave. in Ocean City Md.  Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were conducting a welfare check on a public transit bus when they observed Mr. Olajuwon Hakeem Brown, 19 of Aberdeen Md. expose his buttocks to the passengers on the bus. After a short foot chase Mr. Brown was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. Mr. Brown was taken before the Ocean City Commissioner and is awaiting trial.

On Saturday June 7^th at about 1900 hrs. Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on foot patrol in the area of the Oceanic Motel detected the odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle parked and occupied by Mr. Christian A. Harris 19 of Bear De. in the parking lot. A search of the vehicle revealed a pill bottle containing suspected marijuana in the floor where Mr. Harris was seated. Mr. Harris was issued a criminal citation for possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana and released.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 2350 hours Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on foot patrol in the area of Philadelphia Ave and Somerset St. While on patrol the Deputy located a vehicle emitting a strong odor of marijuana.  A search was conducted and The Deputy located suspected marijuana and numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Justin Michael Smeltzer, 18, of York, PA and Brandon Michael Romero, 19, of York, PA, the occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 10 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released pending trial.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 2350 hours Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on foot patrol in the area of Baltimore Ave and Somerset St.

While on patrol The Deputies made contact with an individual, Nicholas Nashon Stubbs, 21, of Hagerstown, MD, Mr. Stubbs had a strong odor of marijuana coming from his person. Mr. Stubbs later admitted to having marijuana in his pocket. The suspected marijuana was seized and Mr. Stubbs was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 10 grams. He was released pending trial.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 0333 hours Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to Robin Dr in Ocean City for a suspicious vehicle.

Upon arrival Deputies detected an odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle located in the parking lot.  Deputies made contact with the driver, Loketo Sylvester Wilson, 19, of Washington, D.C., and the rear passenger, Randolph Williams III, 25, of Washington, D.C.  A search was conducted of the vehicle and The Deputies located suspected marijuana.  Mr. Wilson and Mr. Williams were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 10 grams. They were released pending trial.

On June 07, 2014 at approximately 6:32 pm, a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was on bike patrol on 15th St. in the area of Philadelphia Ave., Ocean City, Md. when he observed a driver operating a vehicle not wearing a seatbelt.

The Deputy stopped the vehicle. While speaking with the operator, the Deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  A search was conducted and suspected marijuana was located. Mr. Shyheim Lamar White, 20, Cambridge, Md. was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and released pending trial.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 8:00 pm, a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was on bike patrol on 15th St. in the area of Philadelphia Ave., Ocean City, Md. when he observed a vehicle with the front seat passenger not wearing seatbelt.  The Deputy stopped the vehicle and while speaking with the operator, detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search was conducted and suspected Marijuana was located Ms. Alexis Marie Nolan, 18, Beltsville, Md. was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less the 10 grams. She was released pending trial.

On June 7, 2014  at approximately 9:05 pm, A Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a suspicious circumstance involving a motor vehicle in front of a residence on 15th St. Ocean City, Md.  The Deputy conducted a field interview and observed a clear plastic container, containing suspected marijuana in the vehicle.  Mr. Christopher Kiel Braman, 24, Catonsville, Md. was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 10 grams. He was released pending trial.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 12:07 am, A Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy spoke with a female sitting in a vehicle in front of a motel on Atlantic Ave., Ocean City, Md. While the Deputy was talking with the female, he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During the investigation, four additional subjects exited the motel and stated they were with the female subject riding in the vehicle. All individuals were detained and a search was conducted. Suspected marijuana was located.

possession of marijuana , possession of paraphernalia

Mr. Matthew Eduardo Thomas, 18, Washington, DC. Was also arrested and charged with

possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia. They were released pending trial.

On 06/07/2014 the Worcester County Sheriff's Office was called to the Berlin area Wal-Mart reference an attempted Theft and Assault. The suspect, pictured was stopped by Wal Mart loss prevention and later became combative and fled the store. 

The Worcester County Sheriff's Office is attempting to identify the above individual. He is a white male, with gray to blonde hair and stands approximately 5'11. Anyone with information regarding his Identity is asked to call the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office  410-632-1111 and ask for Cpl Dale Trotter.

On June 08, 2014 at approximately 11:45 pm, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on foot patrol on S. Baltimore Ave. in the area of Somerset St. in Ocean City.  The Deputies approached two male subjects that smelled of marijuana.  The Deputies detained the individuals and a probable cause search was conducted and suspected marijuana was located on Mr. Jarrod O. McFadden JR, 21, Hagerstown, Md.

Mr. McFadden was charged with possession of marijuana and released pending trial.

On June 08, 2014 at approximately 1:16 am Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on patrol in a marked patrol vehicle when they observed two males crossing S. Baltimore Avenue, south of S. Division St. In Ocean City, without using a crosswalk.

The Deputies attempted to stop the subjects.  One of the males failed to obey orders to stop and fled on foot.  The Deputies pursed the subject for about 100 yards.  During the foot pursuit, the Deputies observed the suspect make a throwing motion with his hands. The Deputies deployed Taser on the subject and after a brief struggle were able to take the suspect into custody.

A search of the area was conducted and a loaded .44 cal. magnum revolver was recovered and seized.  During further investigation, the suspect stated he had run because he did not want to be caught with the firearm.

The suspect was identified as Weldon Lamont Turner, 19, of Salisbury, Md. Mr. Turner was charged with the following charges: wear and carry a dangerous weapon concealed on his person, carry and transport a handgun upon and about their person, intentionally resist a lawful arrest, willfully fail to obey a reasonable and lawful order of a law enforcement officer. Mr. Turner is awaiting trial.

On June 8, 2014 at approximately 0121 hours Deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office were conducting a foot patrol at the Bed Time Inn in West Ocean City. Maryland.  While conducting a patrol of the premise, Deputies smelled the odor of burnt marijuana in the parking lot.  An individual identified as Thomas James Logan Jr., 22 years old from Capitol Heights, Maryland. Exited a vehicle where the odor of marijuana was coming from. Mr. Logan stated he was smoking marijuana and there was marijuana in the vehicle. The Deputies recovered the suspected marijuana and Mr. Logan was placed under arrest. Mr. Logan gave Deputies a false name initially and when his true identity was discovered, Mr. Logan was found to have a warrant out of Prince George's County, Maryland. Mr. Logan was transported to the District Court Commissioner and released on $3,500 unsecured bond pending trial.

Menace of the Herd

It is so easy to gull the: the pack, the herd. It just takes a bit of theater. A brass band on the Fourth of July, flags whipping in the wind, young soldiers marching down Main Street, rhythmic thump-thump-thump of boots. There comes that glorious sense of common purpose, the adrenal thrill of collective power, thump-thump-thump. Martial ceremony is heady stuff, appealing to things deep and limbic. When Johnny comes marching home again, hoorah, hurrah. We are all together now, made whole, no petty divisions. The fanged herd.

Always the herd. It is in the genes. The herd. Basketball championship night, in a rural high-school: Bright lights, electrified crowd, cheerleaders twirling, skirts riding high. “Johnny, Johnny, he’s our man, if he can’t do it, nobody can!” Wild applause. Striplings dash onto the court, swirl into smooth fast lay-ups, cocky, confident. Long jump-shots, swish! Yaayyyy! Common purpose, unity.

For the seniors, next year in Afghanistan. Johnny comes rolling home again, hoorah, hoorah, minus his legs. From this we avert our eyes.

Indiana Woman Stripped By Jailers And Left Naked For 7 hours

NEW ALBANY, IN — A mother of 4 says that while she was in police custody for a misdemeanor, she was stripped naked by deputies, pepper sprayed, and left naked in a cell for nearly seven hours.

The incident took place on March 30th, when 31-year-old Tabitha Gentry, of New Albany, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, after an emotional fight with her estranged husband. She was taken to the Floyd County Jail and held on 2 misdemeanor charges.

Gentry appeared to be intoxicated and did not answer questions to the satisfaction of the deputies. In an effort to produce “submission through humiliation” — as attorney Laura Landenwich described — the jailers then strip-searched her, and paraded her around in front of other deputies, and left her nude in a room with no covering for the rest of the night.

Surveillance video shows much of the ordeal.

“Almost immediately upon entering the jail, she’s assaulted by four officers. They grab her around the neck, they grab her body,” Landenwich said to WDRB.

What Most Americans Don't Know About Student Debt

Now that student loans, well over $1.1 trillion, are hitting fresh record highs as... well... daily as the S&P500, the Fed is finally getting concerned about the latest debt bubble it has blown (not so much in equities). So concerned, in fact, the New York Fed recently added questions about student loans in its broad survey on consumer expectations to find out what people knew, or rather, did not know about this record debt mountain. We hope it was not shocked to learn that once again the bulk of Americans are taking on unprecedented amounts of debt without having a clue what the conditions are: accordint to the analysis, people don’t fully comprehend the ramifications of taking on student debt.

As Bloomberg summarizes , the survey covered 1,029 people, including those with and without debt. The shocking findings:
Only 28% of respondents knew that if student loans aren’t repaid, the U.S. government can garnish wages, withhold Social Security payments and tax refunds, and report the debt to credit bureaus.
Even more people—35%—incorrectly thought the government couldn’t do any of those things or said they didn’t know what the government could do.

Only 37% of those surveyed knew that students loans are extremely hard to shed in bankruptcy, a reality that differentiates student loans from other debts, such as mortgages and credit cards.

The survey found that people who have student loans know more about the consequences than those who don’t, and that’s even truer of those who have high debt loads. But about half of those with higher-than-average student debt didn’t have high comprehension of the issue.

The survey also found that fewer than one in five people under 55 years old were “highly literate” on the topic, even though they make up most current and future borrowers.

The Principle of Private Property

If I were a member of any discrete group – such as might be identified by the kinds of racial, ethnic, religious, lifestyle, or cultural uniqueness that would provide a target for violence from others – I would become the most vocally insistent advocate of the principle of privately owned property. It has become axiomatic, in our politically-structured and dominated world, that only by relating ourselves to some collective grouping large enough to be able to influence the political system to our advantage, can we find protection from arbitrary violence. Such groupings cannot be so large as to prevent our separation from others (e.g., “mankind”), for politics depends upon division among people, setting up inter-group conflicts that politicians and other state officials promise to “balance” in the interests of social order.

We have been conditioned to accept as an article of faith that “in unity there is strength.” Carl Jung, among others, has helped us to discover just how vulnerable our lives become when we identify with such abstractions. When we transfer the direction and responsibility for our lives to others – particularly to the institutions that are eager to have such powers – we fuel the madness and destructiveness that dominates our world. As Nietzsche so well expressed it: “Insanity in individuals is something rare – but in groups, parties, nations, and epochs it is the rule.” History teaches us – provided we are willing to learn from it – that in “unity” we are made vulnerable to attack from others. Empowering others with the authority to centralize decision-making and obedience over us creates a jugular vein that makes us susceptible to collective aggression.

It has long been assumed – particularly among persons conditioned in the political mindset – that individual liberty and social order are conflicting values that can be harmonized only by a willingness of people to submit to governmental rule. I have spent decades reading and contemplating the works of philosophers of both authoritarian and libertarian persuasion and find a general – albeit not universal – sentiment supportive of the idea that “some” individual liberties must be restrained in the more widely-shared interests of an orderly society.

Rand Paul: 'Chamber of Commerce Republican' Can't Win White House

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said a stale and moderate establishment Republican preferred by the Chamber of Commerce cannot win the White House in 2016.

Chamber of Commerce is fine, I was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, but a Chamber of Commerce Republican is not going to win a national election,” Paul said on Saturday, according to Politico. “I’m not saying we give up on what we believe in, but we have to expand what we believe in.”

Paul, a potential 2016 presidential contender who has indicated even Kentucky law may not prevent him from simultaneously running for the White House and re-election to the Senate, told the Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas that it was time for a "liberty moment" because "no longer something that scares people. It’s what [makes] people say, we can’t run the same-old same-old, we’re not going to win with the same-old, same-old."

STUDY: 70% OF FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES USED TAX HAVENS IN 2013

Tax loopholes encouraged more than 70 percent of Fortune 500 companies – including Stanley Black & Decker in Maryland – to maintain subsidiaries in offshore tax havens as of 2013, according to “Offshore Shell Games,” released today by the Maryland PIRG Foundation and Citizens for Tax Justice (CTJ). Collectively, the companies reported booking nearly $2 trillion offshore for tax purposes, with just 30 companies accounting for 62 percent of the total, or $1.2 trillion.

“Our tax code is broken, and it's hurting the public,” said Maryland PIRG Foundation Director Emily Scarr. “We’ve made it too easy for American multinationals to dodge taxes by setting up shell companies in tax havens, it hurts all Maryland taxpayers. We simply shouldn’t allow companies that use Maryland roads, and benefit from our education system and large consumer market, to take a free ride at the expense of the rest of us.”

“The loopholes in America’s corporate tax have grown so outrageous that our policymakers should be embarrassed,” said Steve Wamhoff, CTJ legislative director. “The data in this report demonstrate that a huge portion of the supposedly ‘offshore’ profits are likely to be U.S. profits that are manipulated so that they appear to be earned in countries like Bermuda or the Cayman Islands where they won’t be taxed. Policymakers should close the loopholes that make this manipulation possible.”

Gunmen attack Pakistan's largest international airport killing nine

Gunmen disguised as police guards attacked a terminal at Pakistan's busiest airport on Sunday with machine guns and a rocket launcher during a five-hour siege that left 26 people dead as explosions echoed into the night.

The Pakistani Taliban, an alliance of insurgent groups fighting to topple the government and set up a sharia state, later claimed responsibility, saying it was in response to army attacks along the Afghan border.

The attack on the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, began late Sunday and continued on into the dawn hours of Monday, although officials said all the passengers had been evacuated.

Put me down as someone who has not seen this kind of irresponsible lawlessness in the US before.

President Nixon had Watergate but that’s beginning to look a lot like a PG movie compared to what we are seeing from this administration, from going around Congress on the prisoner swap to the events on the US-Mexico border.

For the record, I support a moderate immigration reform package that allows some of “the dreamers” to stay here, especially those who’ve been succeeding in school or who want to serve in the US military. It should be part of a broad border security plan. The 10-12 million people who are here will have to wait until we can understand the economic impact of adding more people to an economy that is not producing enough jobs.

However, I can not blame those members of the GOP who’ve concluded that President Obama will not respect whatever Congress does to resolve the immigration problem.

With about 750 employees, and nearly two-thirds of them attorneys, the Office of the Attorney General is considered the largest law firm in the state.

Only three men have held the position over the last 35 years. Voters will pick a new one this year, as Attorney General Doug Gansler runs for governor.

The office provides counsel to virtually all state agencies and all three branches of state government — legislative, executive and the judiciary. The attorney general is also charged with being the “people’s lawyer,” which includes enforcing consumer protection and civil rights laws.

What Corrupt States Spend Their Money On

A study finds that more corrupt states spend more money on construction, highways and police protections and less on health, education and other public services.

Former Charlotte, N.C., Mayor Patrick Cannon’s guilty plea this month to one count of honest services wire fraud wasn’t just a blow to Charlotte’s clean reputation – it’s a mark against North Carolina’s status as one of the nation’s least corrupt states.

Cannon, who was arrested and resigned from his post on March 26, repeatedly sought and accepted bribes in exchange for his backing on transportation, planning and zoning projects while in office on city council and later as mayor, according to prosecutors. His methods aren’t original. Economic development projects are ripe for corruption, the study published this spring in the Public Administration Review, found.

Using data from the Department of Justice that encompassed more than 25,000 public corruption-related convictions nationwide between 1976 and 2008 of elected officials, judges and local employees, the study concluded that higher instances of corruption correlate with more spending in certain areas. Among the most corrupt states were Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Illinois, South Dakota and Alaska.

A group of black people tortured a cat. Now the entire community of black people is upset that those responsible are going to jail.

And they are holding protests to help the black people avoid punishment for this animal abuse.

And they recently tried to disrupt a rally to remember the cat who was killed by unspeakable cruelty by a group of black people in New Jersey.

A throng of Paterson officials and the city chapter of the NAACP are calling for the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to drop the criminal case, and repeated that message with vigor in their protest of the vigil. A group that rivaled the size of the animal advocates said prayers, sang gospel music and argued against the “demonization and criminalization” of the cat’s abusers.

The Rev. Kenneth Clayton, president of the local NAACP, said that he did not want the incident to carry on with the children for the rest of their lives in the form of a criminal record.

“To bring three young men, to put them on the juvenile system track at this point in their lives, can be damaging and hurtful to them,” he said. “There’s no outlet, no way to get out.”

Walter Allen Wright Jr. of Washington DC, arrested 5-28-14 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Wright was held on a $500.00 bond.

Marquice Lamar Bivens of Princess Anne, criminal summons’s served for 11 counts of theft under $1,000, forgery, uttering, and theft scheme. Bivens was released on signature pending court actions.

Isaiah Earl Adams of Washington DC, arrested 5-29-14 for possession of suspected marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Adams was released on signature pending court actions. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop conducted by deputies during a “Click Or Ticket” check point in Princess Anne.

Marcel David Jones of Westover, arrested 5-29-14 on an out of county warrant. Jones was later released from the Commissioner’s Office, and returned to the Somerset County Detention Center.

Natalie Whittaker of Princess Anne, arrested 5-31-14 for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving impaired by alcohol, driver giving false information to police, fleing and eluding police, and multiple traffic infractions. Whittaker was released on signature pending court actions. The arrest was the result of an attempted traffic stop where Whittaker led deputies on a brief car chase, until she crashed her vehicle into a ditch in the area of Progress Lane, Princess Anne.

Amber leigh Schultz of Eden, arrested 6-3-14 on a warrant for violation of probation. Schultz was held without bond.

Calvin James Joseph Jr. of Princess Anne, arrested 6-6-14 for possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Joseph was released on signature pending court actions. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop conducted by deputies in the area of Mt. Vernon Rd.

More Phantom Jobs Created – All In The Wrong Places

Last April I saw a report that 83% of May’s college graduates did not have a job. I remarked that in my day most of us had 2 or 3 job or graduate school offers before we graduated. The latest payroll jobs report issued on June 6 proves that the April report was true.

My opinion, schooled in part by John Williams’ very precise reports on Shadowstats.com, is that on average about half of the new jobs each month are phantom jobs created by the birth-death model and inappropriate seasonal adjustments. So, I figured that the 217,000 jobs claimed for May are more like 108,000. Then I read John Williams’ report on the May jobs number: “Monthly payroll gains overstated by 200,000 plus jobs”

In other words, there were zero new jobs in May.

Just as the US government can turn an inconsequential Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria into dangerous threats against “the world’s only superpower,” the US government can turn zero jobs growth into 217,000 jobs. It is easy when you have a prostitute media and a gullible public, both of which Washington most certainly has.

But let’s take the government data at face value.

Shadowy firm subcontracted by Defense Department
The shadowy private intelligence firm subcontracted by the Defense Department that provided information on kidnapped soldier Bowe Bergdahl was partnered with another obscure outfit that provided security at the attacked U.S. special mission in Libya.

FoxNews.com reported Friday the Eclipse Group, run by former intelligence operatives, provided the military with intelligence that Bergdahl converted to Islam, declared he was a “mujahid,” or Islamic warrior, and at certain times was allowed by his captors to carry a gun.

Eclipse is headed by Duane R. “Dewey” Clarridge, a former senior CIA operations officer known for his role in the so-called Iran-Contra Affair, where senior U.S. administration officials secretly helped to facilitate the sale of arms to Iran despite an embargo. Clarridge was charged with seven counts of perjury and false statements to Congress but was pardoned by President George H.W. Bush in 1992.

Pope says Israelis, Palestinians must seek peace 'undaunted in dialogue'

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Francis told Israeli and Palestinian leaders they "must respond" to their people's yearning for peace "undaunted in dialogue" during an unprecedented prayer meeting among Jews, Christians and Muslims at the Vatican on Sunday.

The pope made his vibrant appeal to Israeli President Shimon Peres and his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas at the end of a two-hour evening service in the Vatican gardens, an encounter he hopes will relaunch the Middle East peace process.

"Peacemaking calls for courage, much more so than warfare. It calls for the courage to say yes to encounter and no to conflict; yes to dialogue and no to violence; yes to negotiations and no to hostilities," he said.

Washington, who never told a lie, or beside her husband William J.
Clinton, who never told the truth, since Hillary could never tell the
difference.

We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the
greatest Democrat of them all. He left not knowing where he was going, and when he got there he did not know where he was. He returned not knowing where he had been, and did it all on someone else's money.

Worcester County Sheriff's Office Press Release 6-9-14 (Part 2)

On 06/07/2014 at 1:05 am Deputies witnessed a fight in the area of 5th street near Philadelphia Ave. Deputies were able to identify the main aggressor as 19 year old Michael Anthony Soper Jr of Perry Hall Maryland. Deputies along with allied agencies were able to break up the fight with out any further incident. Soper was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Affray. Soper was seen by a District Court Commissioner and released.

On 06/06/2014 at 10:40 pm Deputies located two people in the area of 205 Atlantic Ave, who were smoking Marijuana. Deputies were able identify the two people as John Korri Brasher 22 of Waldorf Maryland, the other as a Juvenile from Maryland. Brasher was released on a Criminal Citation. The Juvenile was transported to 65th Street from processing. The juvenile was later released pending action from the Department of Juvenile Services.

Worcester County Sheriff's Office Press Release 6-9-14

On June 8, 2014 at approximately 0121 hours Deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office were conducting a foot patrol at the Bed Time Inn located at 12534 Ocean Gateway Ocean City, Worcester County, Maryland.

While conducting a patrol of the premise, Deputies recognized the odor of burnt marijuana in the parking lot. An individual exited a vehicle who was identified as Thomas James Logan Jr., 22 years old from Capitol Heights, Maryland. Logan stated he was smoking marijuana and there was marijuana in the vehicle. Deputies recovered the marijuana and Logan was placed under arrest. Logan gave Deputies a false name and when his true identity was discovered, Logan was found to have a warrant out of Prince George's County, Maryland. Logan was transported to the District Court Commissioner and released on $3,500 unsecured bond pending trial.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 0333 hours Deputy’s from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 300 Robin Dr for a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival deputy’s detected an odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle located in the parking lot. Deputy’s made contact with the driver, Loketo Sylvester Wilson, 19, of Washington, D.C., and the rear passenger, Randolph Williams III, 25, of Washington, D.C. A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle and deputy’s located marijuana belonging to Wilson and Williams. Wilson and Williams were arrested and later released on criminal citations for possession of marijuana less than 10 grams
