Governor Larry Hogan Announces $3.3 Million for Baltimore City Youth Job Placements

An Additional $4.15 Million in Recovery Funding for City Also Announced

ANNAPOLIS, MD –
Governor Larry Hogan today announced $3.3 million in state funding to provide Baltimore City youth with summer job opportunities and work experience. Allocated to the Youth Works and Hire One Youth programs through the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR), these funds will provide summer jobs to youth in Baltimore City. The funds will be provided by DLLR through a grant it administers to Baltimore City for youth job opportunity programs. Through funding already provided in the state budget, as well as private funding secured by state and city officials, around 8,100 youth will receive summer job placements.

Governor Hogan also announced $4.15 million to provide funds for business recovery loans, homeownership assistance programs, and targeted assistance for significant façade improvements for impacted Baltimore City businesses in an effort to create a more economically and architecturally appealing streetscape.

The funding for both initiatives, which are on Wednesday’s Board of Public Works agenda for final approval, was announced today at the ribbon cutting for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center in West Baltimore.

“These are significant and necessary steps in our ongoing effort to help affected Baltimore City residents recover and rebuild,” said Governor Hogan. “These funds will allow business owners the opportunity to improve their property’s appearance and will provide job opportunities and work experience to our youth throughout the summer months.”

The $4.15 million in funds will be distributed in the following manner:
$1.5 million for business recovery loans;
$500,000 for business façade grants, which could help an estimated 50 businesses;
$150,000 for business façade design and implementation (architectural and workforce services); and
$2 million for settlement expense grants and down payment assistance loans for new homeowners. This attracts an additional $1 million committed by Baltimore City for deferred payment loans that can be forgiven, achieving $3 million in investments for homeownership, an estimated 300 homeowners at $10,000 each.

The financing for the façade improvements will be disbursed as grants and/or flexible loans through the established process that the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) has established under its existing programs. DHCD’s Maryland Business Recovery program, launched within a week of the riots, continues to process applications from affected businesses through DHCD’s micro loan and Neighborhood BusinessWorks programs. To date, the program is reviewing applications from 22 businesses, 13 of which have been approved and are in the process of being closed. Micro loans are for a maximum of $35,000 per business.

“The health and well-being of Baltimore is critical to the health and well-being of Maryland,” DHCD Secretary Kenneth Holt said. “Our efforts are aimed at having Baltimore not just recover, but come back better and stronger.”

Additionally, Governor Hogan celebrated the grand opening of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, a newly renovated facility that was deeded over from Baltimore City to the Greater Harvest Baptist Church, which is headed by Reverend Errol D. Gilliard.

Important supporters of the initiative include Arthur “Squeaky” Kirk, son of the late Delegate Ruth Kirk, the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives (GOCI), and numerous sponsors including State Farm, Kaiser Permanente, Bell Nursery, Baltimore Jewish Council, Rocksprings Foundation, and the Center for Social Change. Donations consisted of a community garden, 20 computers, 15 iPads, a ping pong table, furniture, the renovation of a basketball court and playground, and $10,000 in grant money for Delegate Kirk’s Annual Fun Festival, which is held in August in memory of her service and commitment to the community.

"My team and I are extremely proud of this combined effort between the community and the private sector. We’d like to thank the donors that contributed to the revitalization of the MLK Recreation Center," said GOCI Executive Director Steve McAdams. “Also, I’d like to applaud the financial commitment and personal sacrifice of Arthur Kirk for leading this incredible community initiative in West Baltimore.”

Firefly organizers ready to welcome 90,000 fans

DOVER — State agencies, emergency personnel and event planners say they are ready to welcome up to 90,000 music enthusiasts heading to Dover next weekend for the fourth Firefly Music Festival.

Throughout the four years of the festival – which has nearly tripled in size since its 2012 inaugural event – organizers have tweaked logistics for loading equipment, as well as managing parking and traffic and preparing emergency plans.

And with the elimination of single-day passes this year, Firefly director Greg Bostrom said he expects everything to go smoothly.

One month after the 2014 festival ended, Bostrom said, planning began for the 2015 event, which runs Thursday, June 18, through Sunday, June 21. New improvements, some of which were implemented last year, include extra loading days for vendors and equipment, an additional 12,000 feet of new roads on site, a new staff lot that can handle 1,500 cars per day and eliminate those vehicles from festival traffic, new lighting and shuttles, an offsite will-call location and improvements to the tolling process.

New Approach Eyed For Post Labor Day School Start Legislation After Bills Fizzled This Year

OCEAN CITY – Following an uneventful legislative session for the proposed state-mandated post-Labor Day start for public schools this year, the Ocean City Tourism Commission went back to the drawing board last week to start strategizing for the next legislative session.

The post-Labor Day school start bills, cross-filed in the House by Delegate Mary Beth Carozza (R-38C) and Senate by Senator Jim Mathias (D-38) over the winter, never got any traction during this year’s session and both failed to make it out of committee in either chamber.

The two Lower Shore legislators told the Ocean City Economic Development Committee (EDC) in early May the effort would continue in the 2016 session. Although a poll earlier this year showed parents and teachers across Maryland supported the proposed legislation, it turned out to be a tough sell in other areas around the state.

‘Immigrant Groups’ Are Battling It Out In The Streets Of Fargo, ND

A manhunt is underway in Fargo, N.D. after two separate groups of immigrants from unknown countries began waging what is being described as a “street war” against each other earlier this week.

According to Valley News Live, police are currently searching for Luke Goodrich and Isaac Nyemah for their involvement in an alleged armed home invasion that took place Wednesday morning.

It is unclear how, but the two men are allegedly involved in trouble that began Sunday at a birthday party in a Fargo park.

A group of 70 people were gathered when an altercation of some sort ensued. Men affiliated with one immigrant group smashed out the window of a car with a crowbar. The same men vandalized another vehicle shortly after. Police were initially called to the park because a DJ had been hired and party-goers were drinking alcohol, in violation of park rules.

According to Valley News, while police have acknowledged that two immigrant groups are involved, they said that it is “not relevant” what country they hail from. Fargo, which has a population of around 110,000 people, has seen 4,000 refugees from 35 nations come to the city over the past decade.

“You know when you get different new American groups from different ethnic backgrounds from different areas, sometimes they come here with those cultural disputes between the groups, and likely that’s what we are seeing here,” Lt. Michael Mitchell of the Fargo Police Department told Valley News.

Valley News reported that a "Refugee Liason Officer" is currently looking into the cause of the squabble.

Worcester County Cuts 32 Positions To Give More Money To School System Employees

NEWARK – The elimination of 32 positions will enable the Worcester County Board of Education to fund pay increases for teachers.

On Tuesday, the school system ratified negotiated agreements with the Worcester County Teachers Association (WCTA) and the Worcester County Education Support Personal Association (WCESPA) finalizing salaries for the coming school year. Those teachers eligible will receive a step increase while those beyond the step system (who have been teaching in Worcester County for more than 15 years) will receive a 1 percent cost-of-living increase. Teachers who are three years behind in step increases will also receive a mid-year step increase.

“Teachers are getting a little bit,” school board member Sara Thompson said. “Not what we need to give them but they’re getting something.”

Though education officials announced plans to give teachers raises early in this year’s budget process, when county leaders voted not to fund all of the board of education’s $82.7 million request school system officials and representatives of WCTA and WCESPA went back into negotiations. Using the SurveyMonkey website, association members were able to vote on the proposed agreement in time for Tuesday’s school board meeting. According to Beth Shockley-Lynch, president of the WCTA, reported more than 95 percent of association members voted to support the contract. She praised school system officials for reallocating the money to fund salary increases.

Graham: Obama Freed Muslim Held in Egypt; Christian Pastor Suffers in Iran

Franklin Graham, the Christian evangelist, has said President Barack Obama should intervene to press for the release of Saeed Abedini in the way that he did for a man linked to the Muslim Brotherhood held in Egypt.

Abedini is an American Christian pastor who has been imprisoned in Iran since September 2012. A convert from Islam, he established roughly 100 Christian churches in the country in the early 2000s.

In an open letter posted on Facebook, Graham noted that the Obama administration worked with Egyptian authorities to secure the release of Mohamed Soltan, who had been sentenced to life for his affiliation with the radical Islamic terrorist group.

"Mr. President, American pastor Saeed Abedini has been imprisoned in Iran for 2½ years, and last week he suffered another severe beating at the hands of inmates. His life is continuously threatened not only because he's an American, but also because he's a Christian. This was why he was arrested — and he has been told his only way out is to deny Jesus Christ," Graham wrote in a post on Monday.

He referred to news reports that the White House worked extensively for the release Soltan, an Egyptian-American, from an Egyptian prison last month. Graham pointed out that Soltan worked on the Obama campaign and that his father was a prominent member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

"Mr. President, I hope you'll do the same to help Saeed Abedini — who is guilty of nothing, was sentenced to eight years in prison, and whose only affiliation is with the Lord Jesus Christ. Christians, pray with me for Saeed's protection and for his release."

Alveda King: GOP Helps Minorities, Democrats Give Only Talk

Jeb Bush officially entered the GOP presidential field on Monday with an appeal to minority voters, and civil rights activist Alveda King says they should give Republicans a chance.

Appearing Monday on Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto," the niece of Martin Luther King Jr. said the African-American community cares about "kitchen table issues," such as paying the bills and educating children.

"Any candidate that wants to be the president of the United States must know that African-Americans have children, African-Americans have family, African-Americans need jobs," she said. "We need the same thing. We want safety and security. We don't want our country threatened by terrorists."

Those issues aren't related to skin color, King said, and anyone running for president should make note of it.

Democrats don't have policies, so they appeal to emotions, King said, while Republicans bring opportunity and access.

Author Meltzer: Reagan Carried Gun While President

President Ronald Reagan carried a handgun with him at all times during his years in office, author Brad Meltzer writes in the New York Daily News.

Meltzer says he was doing research for his latest thriller "The President's Shadow," and wanted to talk to Secret Service agents about how the president lives.

At Secret Service headquarters he was taken to a small museum area where he saw such items as a newspaper marking John F. Kennedy's assassination and the actual door from the limousine Reagan was getting into when he was shot by John Hinckley Jr.

"It was an eerie keepsake for sure," Meltzer writes. "But not nearly as eerie as the next detail they told me. We were talking about Reagan and that day he was shot. Then one of the agents offered this secret: When Reagan was president, he carried his own gun."

Reagan carried the .38-caliber in his briefcase, and even took it onto Air Force One, Meltzer was told.

Here's A Fun Story For You!

Here's a fun story to start your week off... I'm driving to set in my pick up truck - music blasting - I'm singing away like I'm having a one man party in my truck - then I hear a loud BANG. What the hell..? Look in my rear view and see I sideswiped another pick up that was parked in the street and destroyed the side mirror. First thing I thought was, "Aw shit.. someone's not gonna be happy..". I flipped a U-turn and drove back to scene. Just as I got out of my truck a guy was walking across the street to his truck. I said "Sir, is this your truck?". He stopped and stared at me for a good 5 seconds, looked around his neighborhood, looked back at me and "Yes it is. Why?". I said "Well, sorry to tell ya I sideswiped it and knocked the hell outta your mirror and may have done even more damage. You give me your info and I'll leave you mine and I'll take care of everything". He stared at me again, cocked his head sideways and said.."Uhhh.. Are you The Rock?". I said "Yup". He broke out into a huge smile and said "Wow, this is gonna be an awesome story!". I started belly laughing at that, then he started laughing and before you know it we're both standing in the middle of the street pointing to his mirror and laughing like two ol' crazy buddies. I checked back in with him a few days later and he refused to accept any money and said he fixed the damage himself. Want to thank Mr. Audie Bridges of Wakefield, Mass. for being so cool about the whole thing. Life is funny cause you never know who you're gonna run into... and sure as hell never know who's truck you're gonna sideswipe while driving to work.

Benghazi Emails Withheld From House Investigators

Sidney Blumenthal correspondence shows discrepancies with Hillary submissions

Sidney Blumenthal’s email correspondence on Benghazi suggests that the State Department or former Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton did not turn over all of her emails to House investigators, as she has insisted, according to a report in Politico on Monday evening.

Mr. Blumenthal is a longtime Hillary confidante and friend who will testify privately before the the House Select Committee on Benghazi on Tuesday morning. The panel had recently subpoenaed his Benghazi-related emails, Politico reported.

Because Mrs. Clinton used a private email server rather than the government’s, she decided what emails were “official” communications that she would turn them over to the State Department. She has since scrubbed the server clean.

Among the material Mr. Blumenthal had turned over “were several emails concerning Libya between Blumenthal and Clinton that had not been previously turned over by State. Clinton has said she gave all her work-related correspondence, kept on her personal email server, to the State Department,” the Politico article by Rachael Bade reported.

IRS Finds 6,400 New Lois Lerner Emails…Gives DUMBEST EXCUSE YET For Not Releasing Them

The Internal Revenue Service found 6,400 more Lois Lerner emails — but they’re not handing them over in court.

The IRS’ latest excuses are nothing short of infuriating.

Department of Justice lawyers Geoffrey J. Klimas and Stephanie Sasarak, acting as counsel for the IRS, submitted a U.S. District Court filing June 12 in the case Judicial Watch v. Internal Revenue Service. The court filing, provided to The Daily Caller, claims the IRS received new Lerner emails from the Treasury Department’s inspector general (TIGTA) but can’t fork over the emails to Judicial Watch, a nonprofit group suing to get the emails.

Why? Because the IRS is busy making sure that none of the emails are duplicates – you know, so as not to waste anyone’s time.

However, the inspector general already made sure that none of the emails were duplicates, so the IRS’ latest excuse falls flat.

Here are takeaways from the court filing.

Colossal!!! US. FEMA. Training To Hang In Texas???

For the last few hours we’ve been looking over the photograph sent to All News Pipeline above (and again at the bottom of the story much bigger) to determine if it is real or if it has been photoshopped. If real, the American people deserve to know what’s going on in it, whether innocently some sort of training drill to rescue people from flood waters in Texas or some sort of bizarre torture ritual that goes back hundreds of years that our govt leaders are preparing to unleash upon the masses once again.

Reddit conspiracy is looking at the image originally published by Freedomslips, too, trying to figure out if what we are seeing is something monstrously heinous or simply preparing to save lives; prep for ‘public hanging and humiliation’ or water rescue 101? What are the blue buckets with side outlets for that are seen at each ‘hanging station’? The ties this photo has to a period of time we all thought had long past are alarming as shared in more detail below.

FEMA is quite fond of using RV’s as mobile command centers as shown in the pictures directly below. They also seem to like big sweeping swirl designs on their buses and the lettering looks legitimate on the picture above as well when compared to these other FEMA RV mobile command centers.

Sadly, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has such a horrid reputation that in 2015 America with Jade Helm unfolding across the country, the sinister viewpoint taken by Americans on this picture will quite likely rule out over the ‘water rescue training’ viewpoint, and for good reason some might argue considering the history going back to medieval times of such contraptions. From a source who is a retired US Navy SEAL.:

“At a much closer look, it’s three different types of hanging methods. One that cuts off circulation of the legs, one that cuts of circulation to the diaphragm and one that is a simple neck hanging. This is tutorial for the different hanging methods! This is a training session!!!!!!!! I would say it’s a joke set up by some bored FEMA guys, but the time it would take to set up all the ropes involved, seems too much work for that.”

We’re asked to noticed the shape of the hanging device being used, almost that of the pyramid, and the illuminati connections to the pyramid shape. We know through history such a triangular shape has been used to torture and put people on display for public humiliation. The image seen below left is from the Steve McQueen movie ‘Sand Pebbles’ from 1966. Below center is torture used by the Germans in Auschwitz; notice the clogs the prisoners are wearing are identical to the clog being impaled by the Jade Helm swords in the JH15 logo. Picture below right shows a ‘torture triangle’ from Port Arthur, a penal colony from Australian history.

121 murders attributed to illegals released by Obama administration

More than 100 immigrants whom the Obama administration released back into the community went on to be charged with subsequent killings, according to government data released Monday that raises more questions about whether immigration authorities are doing enough to detail illegal immigrants awaiting deportation.

In one case, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement acknowledged that its agents didn’t find out about an illegal immigrant’s death threats and court injunctions against him — which should have put him back in detention — until after the man was accused of murder.

That case, involving Apolinar Altamirano, is the latest instance of someone who went through the Obama administration’s deportation system and was released, only to go on to be charged with major crimes.

PROJECT CAMELOT: POSSIBLE EMP IN TEXAS - INTERVIEW WITH DALE LEWIS

Do You Agree?

Texas Fires Warning Shot!

They're Taking Their Gold Back - Retired US Navy SEAL Sends Dire Warning To Military And Govt Employees: 'They Will Kill You'

In one of the most interesting and potentially explosive moves of 2015, the state of Texas has decided that it wants its' gold back from the Federal Reserve, that's right, all $1 BILLION dollars of it. They've also decided that they want to stir up all kinds of problems for those who seek to control everything by making it NON-CONFISCATABLE - yes, the bill to repatriate Texas's gold from New York and the FED contains a provision that will PREVENT seizure by the federal government (or by the NWO globalists working to destroy America for that matter!) In the excellent new video below featuring David Morgan on the Ellis Report called 'From Bank Run To Gold Rush,' we learn that Texas's move is the kind of move that can have global repercussions. Meanwhile, Texas' plan to take their gold back MAY be one of the reasons for the Jade Helm labeling of Texas as 'hostile'. The Federal Reserve doesn't want any competition.

ANP has also been the recipient of a lot more pictures from our readers across the country of military convoys, vehicles, etc as seen at top of story and below videos and we also report more below upon a warning from a retired US Navy SEAL to ALL bankers, politicians, members of the military, state representatives and high level government employees:

"The pit you are helping dig for others, you will also fall in yourselves. You've been lied to, used, and when they are done with you, they will kill you."

Texas Governor Greg Abbot just signed the bill into law on Friday, June 12th that will allow Texas to build a gold and silver bullion depository in which they'll move their $1 billion in gold to once it is completed. While some might ask 'what's the big deal?', this story in The Epoch Times tells us that the Texas gold repatriation bill has the potential to uproot the entire monetary system and as Zero Hedge says, 'the writing's on the wall'.
Putting it simply, Texas has told the federal government that they don't trust them holding onto their gold. Texas Rep. Giovanni Capriglione, who introduced the bill, said "when I first introduced this I got so many emails and calls from people who said they want to store their gold in Texas...people have this image of Texas as big and powerful...so this is exactly where they want to store their gold." How are New York and the FED and their endless printing machines going to react to this move? The distrusts spreads from just distrust of New York to distrust of the entire financial system.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGNA CARTA

Monday, June 15, 2015, is the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta

In his book, Magna Carta, J.C. Holt, professor of medieval history, University of Cambridge, notes that three of the chapters of this ancient document still stand on the English Stature Book and that so much of what survives of the Great Charter is “concerned with individual liberty,” which “is a reflexion of the quality of the original act of 1215.”

In the 17th century Sir Edward Coke used the Great Charter of the Liberties to establish the supremacy of Parliament, the representative of the people, as the origin of law.

A number of legal scholars have made the irrelevant point that the Magna Carter protected rights of the Church, nobles, and free men who were not enserfed, a small percentage of the population in the early 13th century. We hear the same about the US Constitution–it was something the rich did for themselves. I have no sympathy for debunking human achievements that, in the end, gave ordinary people liberty.

Jenner’s ‘Vanity Affair

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.” – The Serenity Prayer.

If we were completely honest, we’d admit that Bruce (Caitlyn) Jenner’s problem is also ours. Jenner’s gender identity disorder is someone else’s eating…substance abuse…antisocial…you name it…disorder. All of which can be traced back to a deep yearning for acceptance that can only be satisfied on a spiritual level.

But we still try.

Psychologists suggest we all have disorders, though most do not wear them front-and-center like the transgender donut shop worker I’ve reached out to over the years in an honest attempt to extend God’s love on a personal level. Like my donut shop friend, I cannot help but believe that Jenner’s exhibition, which the media circus calls “courage,” is really a desperate cry for help in an increasingly genderqueer culture where the only thing that is wrong is to suggest something is wrong.

Jenner told ABC News’ Diane Sawyer he is, for all intents and purposes, a woman in a recent interview. “People see you as a macho male but my heart and my soul and everything I do in life…that female side is part of me, that’s who I am,” said Jenner. If you read the Bible, you’ll see God also has a “feminine side,” comforting “his people like a mother comforts his child” and so forth. Nonetheless, throughout scripture, the God, who is Spirit, is clearly referenced as male. Jenner is as much a woman as my sweet rescue pup, Bella, is a male. Ten pound Bella hikes her leg, rolls around in the mud and is the “Alpha” leader of our diversified 3-dog pack, which includes a 70-pound Alaskan Husky male sled dog who submissively follows her around. She looks and acts like a male dog, but she’ll always be our precious Bella with a dirtied pink bow.

We can change our appearance but we cannot change our DNA. Penn State University research released March 23, 2005 in Science Daily determined the difference between men and women is in their genes, not the jeans they choose to wear. The research concluded that the chromosomal differences “should be recognized as potential factors for explaining normal differences between the sexes but also gender differences in how certain diseases are manifested, progress and respond to treatment” — meaning should one be diagnosed with a disease, it would be wise to check the correct gender box at the doctor’s office.

A comprehensive Swedish 30-year scientific study, “Long-Term Follow-Up of Transsexual Persons Undergoing Sex Reassignment Surgery,” published February 22, 2011 found that post-op transgender people had “substantially higher rates of overall mortality, death from cardiovascular disease, suicide attempts, and psychiatric hospitalizations in sex-reassigned transsexual individuals compared to a healthy control population.” It concluded that “post-surgical transsexuals are a risk group that need long-term psychiatric and somatic follow-up.” Although surgery and hormonal therapy “alleviates gender dysphoria, it is apparently not sufficient to remedy the high rates of morbidity and mortality found among transsexual persons.” With those kind of statistics, it is shocking some are opposed to taking preventative measures. Democrats recently moved to ban so-called “conversion therapy” and should be held accountable.

The Fantasy That ObamaCare ‘Is Working’

[ObamaCare] is working…We haven’t had a lot of conversation about the horrors of Obamacare because none of them have come to pass. You got 16 million people who’ve gotten health insurance.

It hasn’t had an adverse effect on people who already had health insurance. The overwhelming majority of them are satisfied with the health insurance…

The costs have come in substantially lower than even our estimates about how much it would cost. Health care inflation overall has continued to be at some of the lowest levels in 50 years. None of the predictions about how this wouldn’t work have come to pass.

Gap Plans to Close Stores, Cut Jobs

Gap Inc. said Monday that it plans to close about 175 North American stores over the next few years “to better reflect how customers shop.”

The retailer said about 140 closures will occur this fiscal year and won't affect Gap Outlet and Gap Factory Stores. After the closings, there will be about 500 Gap specialty stores and 300 Gap outlets in North America. A limited number of European stores also will close.

In addition, Gap plans to eliminate about 250 corporate jobs. The job cuts reflect the company’s broader changes, Gap said, and are meant to speed decision-making and responsiveness.

Hillary Clinton’s Unpaid Intern Limbo: A Grassroots Campaign Of ‘Free Help’

Democratic frontrunner’s campaign paints a picture of a candidate preaching economic opportunity yet former staffers are taking unpaid summer fellowships

Experienced, adult political operatives who want to do grassroots work for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign currently have no choice but to work as unpaid, full-time interns, raising new questions about how the White House frontrunner runs her own labor force as she prepares to double down on young people’s role in the American economy.

The Clinton campaign is currently in the midst of what multiple Democratic sources described as a “hiring freeze” for paid organizing positions in the early campaign states where the former Secretary of State is laying the foundations of a massive national staff, with few if any paying jobs available for field operations.

Clinton’s camp has made headlines about its frugality and a hard sell on its fellowship program, which allows aspiring politicos between the ages of 18 and 24 to spend this summer as full-time campaign volunteers. The result, however, is the human-resources reality of a campaign – one scheduled to hold at least 26 fundraisers this month alone – that isn’t just taking on college students with political science degrees but expecting political veterans to gamble their careers on her without pay.

Clinton, according to her would-be employees, has left full-time organizers with little choice but to criss-cross the country and work as “free help”.

SHORT DUDE PUTS TALL GUY TO SLEEP WITH ONE PUNCH!

I Bet You Didn’t Know Ronald Reagan Was THIS MUCH of a Fan of the 2nd Amendment

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone that Ronald Reagan was a fan of guns. But one author has now allegedly discovered a new fact that will have advocates of the 2nd Amendment cheering: Ronald Reagan actually carried a gun on him while he was president!

Ronald Reagan carried a gun with him at all times and stashed it in his briefcase whilst he was away on official business.

An American author has claimed that the former president never left the White House without a .38 caliber pistol by his side.

He even took it on Air Force One in case a disturbance broke out in mid-air said Brad Meltzer, who writes political thrillers.

… In an article in the New York Daily News, Meltzer said that on a tour of the Secret Service headquarters whilst researching his latest book, he came across the actual car door from the limousine where Reagan was shot.

Meltzer wrote: ‘It was an eerie keepsake for sure.

‘But not nearly as eerie as the next detail they told me. We were talking about Reagan and that day he was shot.

Four Illinois Officers Charged With Felony Perjury In Drug Case

In the midst of testimony from multiple officers describing Chicago Police Officer William Pruente's actions during a traffic stop, the defense produced a video from the scene that contradicted the testimony of the officers.

Chicago, IL- Three narcotics officers from Chicago and one officer from the nearby town of Glenview have been charged with lying under oath during a hearing in March 2014.

Glenview Officer James Horn, Chicago Sgt. James Padar, Chicago Officer William Pruente, and Chicago Officer Vince Morgan are facing felony charges of perjury, misconduct and obstruction of justice. The charges were announced on Monday by Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez.

The charges stemmed from court testimony given by officers regarding a June 2013 traffic stop in Glenview that led to a drug-related arrest. Joseph Sperling, a Glenview resident, was pulled over near his home by Pruente after failing to use his turn signal, according to Pruente’s testimony. Pruente also testified that he smelled marijuana from inside the car as he waited for Sperling to provide his license and insurance information.

Pruente then stated that Sperling admitted to having a small about of marijuana with him. Pruente said he ordered Sperling to step out of his car and stand next to the trunk. Close to a pound of marijuana in a backpack was in plain view in the backseat, according to Pruente’s testimony.

Pruente said that while the other officers stood watch, he performed a vehicle search and found the marijuana before handcuffing and arresting Sperling. Officers Horn, Padar, and Morgan each provided testimony to corroborate Pruente’s claims.

But as a fifth officer was providing similar testimony backing up the statements of Pruente, Sperling’s lawyer surprised the courtroom by showing a police video that Goldman had subpoenaed. The footage shown directly contradicted the testimony from all five officers.

EPA review finds Pennsylvania significantly off track to meet Bay goals

Pennsylvania this year needs to double the number of farm acres under nutrient management and plant seven times as many acres of forest and grass buffers as it did last year to help it get back on track to meet Chesapeake Bay nutrient reduction targets, but it lacks programs or policies to achieve either, according to an EPA review released Thursday.

The review also cast doubt on whether the state could ever meet its pollution reduction goals for urban stormwater.

Those points illustrate how far off track the watershed’s largest contributor of nutrient and sediment pollution is from meeting its goals. The EPA review warned Pennsylvania that if it does not ramp up efforts, the agency could take actions such as requiring greater pollution reductions from wastewater treatment plants — something that would be hugely expensive in Pennsylvania where plants tend to be smaller and more costly to upgrade.

Congress Still Doesn’t Want DC To Regulate Marijuana Sales

In a draft congressional spending bill released Wednesday, the House Committee on Appropriations is again blocking the District of Columbia from regulating marijuana sales in the city.

The legislation maintains provisions from last year that forbid D.C. from using any federal or local funds to further its marijuana legalization efforts.

In February, the city legalized the possession of up to two ounces of marijuana and gave residents over the age of 21 the ability to grow as many as six plants, though only three can be mature at any one time.

It is legal to give one ounce or less of marijuana to another person, so long as there is no exchange of money or any kind of trade. But since Congress forbade the city from setting up regulatory framework, sale of marijuana is still illegal.

Republicans in Congress have been duking it out with the city ever since the legalization took effect, promising to find ways to defund other city programs.

Bill Clinton: ‘You Can’t Have People Walking Around With Guns’

"I used to tell people when we did Bosnia, Kosovo anything like that, you get enough people with weapons around and there will be unattended consequences."

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” former President Bill Clinton told CNN’s Jake Tapper that the Baltimore and Ferguson civil unrest is a result of too many, “people walking around with guns” combined with a lack community trust.

Clinton said, “The Baltimore thing came on the heels of what happened in Ferguson, what happened in New York City and all these other places. And their is a big national movement about whether the lives of young African-American men count.”

“You can’t have people walking around with guns. I used to tell people when we did Bosnia, Kosovo anything like that, you get enough people with weapons around and there will be unattended consequences. People make mistakes People do wrong. Things happen. To hold a community together you got to have a high level of community trust.”

Spacecraft That Landed on Comet Finally Wakes up

To scientists' relief and delight, the Philae spacecraft that landed on a comet last fall has woken up and communicated with Earth after seven long months of silence, the European Space Agency announced Sunday.

Philae became the first spacecraft to settle on a comet when it touched down on icy 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko in November. But the solar-powered probe came down with a bounce and ended up in the shadow of a cliff instead of in direct sunlight.

As a result, Philae managed to conduct experiments and send data to Earth for only about 60 hours before its batteries ran out and it was forced to shut down its systems and go silent.

Scientists had hoped the probe would wake up again as the comet approached the sun, enabling Philae's solar panels to soak up enough light to charge the craft's main battery. But there were fears its mission would be cut short.

OCEAN CITY – The 8th Annual Ocean City Air Show was headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels this past weekend but prior to kicking off their official performance team members took some time out to visit families staying at the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s House by the Sea on Friday morning.

Since arriving in Ocean City a couple of days earlier, Thayer said the community had been very welcoming.

Gun Maker Colt Defense to File for Chapter 11 ?

Colt Defense, the storied firearms maker, announced late Sunday that it has filed for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization..

Colt said that in making the filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware, it hopes the process will allow it to quickly sell its business operations in the U.S and Canada. A firm, Sciens Capital Management, plans to buy virtually all of Colt's assets.

"The plan we are announcing and have filed today will allow Colt to restructure its balance sheet while meeting all of its obligations to customers, vendors, suppliers and employees and providing for maximum continuity in the Company's current and future business operations," said Keith Maib, Chief Restructuring Officer of Colt Defense, in a statement.

Because of the filing, the sale should go through without all the debt that otherwise would have been associated with it.

The plan is to keep Colt healthy and vigorous, continuing to make guns in West Hartford, Conn.

Colt has produced a lot of famous weapons over the years. Pistols such as the Colt .45 became legendary.

WHAT'S AN INFIDEL ?

The author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader in prison ministry. The man who walks with God always gets to his destination. If you have a pulse you have a purpose.

The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States, especially in the minority races.

Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who each explained their beliefs. I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Muslim gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.

After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Muslim and asked: 'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clericsof Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'

There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, 'Non-believers!'

I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?'

The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.' He sheepishlyreplied, 'Yes.'

I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine The Pope commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!'

The Muslim was speechless.

I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question: Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?'

You could have heard a pin drop. Needless to say, theorganizers and/or promoters of the 'Diversification' training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.

In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President. I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference.
